WCA Awarded $100,000 for Puʻuiki Beach Park Improvements

The Waialua Community Association is pleased to announce that WCA has been awarded a $100,000 State of Hawaiʻi Grant-in-Aid to support improvements at Puʻuiki Beach Park.

The funding will help address important needs including hazardous tree removal, repairs to existing pavilions and facilities, restroom and plumbing repairs, accessibility and safety improvements, perimeter fencing, grounds-maintenance equipment, and supplies needed to care for the park.

This grant is an important step forward, but there is still much to be done at Puʻuiki. Maintaining and improving approximately 9.5 acres of coastal property is a long-term responsibility that will require continued investment, partnerships, volunteer effort, and community support.

At the same time, Puʻuiki is only one part of WCA's kuleana. WCA must also continue to operate, maintain, and improve its historic community hub, which has served generations of Waialua families since 1934 and remains at the heart of the Association's programs and community activities.

WCA will continue pursuing grants and partnerships to bring outside resources into our community, but the support of our members, donors, volunteers, and community remains essential to caring for both Puʻuiki and the WCA facilities we have been entrusted to preserve.
