Puʻuiki Fence Project Keeps Moving Forward

Work on the Puʻuiki Beach Park fence is coming along great! On Saturday, October 3, another dedicated WCA crew gathered for a successful work day and made significant progress on the new wooden fence.

The day was hot, but that didn't stop the crew. Under the capable leadership of WCA Vice President Leif Andersen, everyone persevered and worked together to keep the project moving forward. Derek Ragragola, Manu Anana, Pua Ruane, Charlyn and Todd Sales, and Berni Paik-Apau spent the day painting the 2x6 rails and installing an impressive 200 feet of top rail.

With each work day, the new fence is taking shape and showing what can be accomplished through teamwork, volunteer effort, and a shared commitment to caring for Puʻuiki.

Of course, hard work calls for a good lunch! A special mahalo goes to our lunch crew, Delphine Oteneru, Pua Ruane, and Charlyn Sales, who made sure everyone was well fed and satisfied before getting back to work.

WCA extends a heartfelt mahalo to Leif and the entire crew for giving their Saturday, their energy, and their hard work to this project. There is still more fence ahead, but every post and rail brings us another step closer to completing this important improvement.

Mahalo a nui loa to everyone who continues to give their time and talents to Puʻuiki. Working together, we are making a difference!

Great Finds & Spookey Fun At WCA

Get ready for a day of great bargains, good food, and Halloween fun at the Waialua Community Association's Trick or Treat Rummage Sale!

Come browse through an assortment of rummage-sale treasures and see what great finds are waiting for you. Whether you're hunting for a bargain, looking for something unexpected, or just stopping by to enjoy the day, there will be plenty of reasons to visit WCA.

And don't forget the food! We'll also be offering Chicken Hekka plate pick-up for $15 per plate. Our Chicken Hekka will be prepared by John Hirota, well known for helping put on the famous annual lūʻau at Liliʻuokalani Protestant Church. If you know John's cooking, you know this is something you won't want to miss!

Chicken Hekka tickets are available now at the WCA office. Be sure to get yours early.

Bring your family and friends, hunt for some treasures, pick up a delicious Chicken Hekka plate, and join us for a little spooky fun at WCA!

You Can Catch WCA at Camp Erdman, Too!

Can't get enough Chicken Hekka? WCA will also be joining the celebration of Camp Erdman's 100th Anniversary on October 17, where we'll have a food booth featuring our Chicken Hekka Plate.

We're excited to be part of this special North Shore celebration and hope you'll stop by the WCA booth, say aloha, and enjoy another delicious plate while supporting WCA.
